I seek more than just votes
The problem with wearing a thinking man's hat and expressing it, is the inner conflicts that I fight trying to use metaphors to convey the point, yet being subtle.
The inner conflicts to have balanced views, to be neutral, to be logical, acknowledge sensible views from contrasting school of thoughts.
We all build walls within, to either shield our ideas, our thought process, our belief systems, or the lack of it.
Especially when the dispensation is seeking more than just votes from us. Submit your votes, submit your loyalty, submit yourself.
In the words of Prashant Kishore "It's no more about just asking for votes, it's about leaving an ideological footprint"...the metaphor used by him is footprint, I would say scar!
2024 - Ab ki baar, Chocobar
No one ever doubted BJP to form the next Govt (though technically losing absolute majority), Modi was always expected to retain power.
"Ab ki baar, Choco Bar". Bhakts need to have Choco Bar, cool down, introspect their lust for one man.
Modi is indeed the kinda leader India needed, but the Bhakts with their Bhakti have spoilt him over the years, making him believe he is God!
The power of democracy proved that one can't be a fool to think they will make India Opposition Mukt, and make it autocratic.
The audacity is rejected once again.
The tamed down Modi 3.0. will now atleast be humble, accommodative, stop monologues. He does not have a choice also now, since he will have to have consensus with all the partners. He cannot now bulldoze parliament and push policies at his will.
The vulgar display of Andh Bhakti had almost cost India having 1 P.M every 6 months! The Bhakts need to treat Modi as just another Politician and help him think sensibly and to refrain from antics and media shows, and let him believe he is just a Politician, and not a God!
As ordinary citizens, we pay taxes and a Govt uses our Tax to give us benefits, that's a straight forward transaction.
If a Govt is digressing from this basic job, it is Ok to raise Questions.
The orgasm the Bhakts display for every drama he does on Cameras will hopefully not be encouraged anymore, some Highway built somewhere far in Gujarat will hopefully no more be promoted as achievement, but look at the roads we travel everyday, near our homes.
A win that's a defeat, a defeat that's a win
A diminished, shrunk mandate handed over to BJP.
Until yesterday, no questions could be raised because it was a democratically elected Govt and accepted by majority, and insisted to respect the mandate.
Now that rule doesn't apply, this mandate is seen as Hindus betraying Hindus - change in narrative, but no signs of remorse or realisation.
A friend of mine analysed the result beautifully - "BJP is given a Win that feels like a defeat, Congress is given a defeat that feels like a win".
The electoral democracy itself I feel is flawed. A good no.of people don't even know their candidates, they just vote for religion, community, caste, freebies, party allegiance, a person or a family.
There is still no humility seen in the man's yet another speech. Even now he doesn't realise that he has lost absolute majority and is a warning sign.
Out of 140 Cr population, around 30 Cr voted for BJP. Not that any other party has got anything even close to them, 30 out of 140 should be accepted as voice of entire India?
The Ayodhya mystery
The election result in Ayodhya is worth considering for a case study.
The grand Ram Temple was most talked about, anticipated and branded as an achievement of BJP, as generations waited for this milestone.
BJP's Hindutva showcase Project that was marketed with the PM right at the centre stage, surprisingly didn't give them the yield expected by everyone.
For everyone else in the world, Ram Temple meant Hindu revival, establishing that we are a Hindu nation and some genuine spiritual gains.
But Ayodhya is also a town where some real people live and home to many.
For them, how much of pride of being a Ayodhyan could make up for real problems faced by them.
Though the Temple gave way for Investments, Jobs, Infrastructure, the localites probably couldn't digest the sudden surge of people in their hometown, migrants and it becoming a major Tourism hub.
Or maybe BJP/PM emphasized more on religious aspects in their messaging, than the opportunities the Temple would bring.
The loss of livelihood, properties that 1000s of people had to let go who were in the way of Development, could also be the ire vented!
There will surely be restrictions for residents, constrained movement, and security forces overpowering, abusing the localites.
Even with 85% Hindu population in Ayodhya, religious sentiments alone didn't sell.
Ayodhya election verdict is a classic example of how too much of anything is bad. Each of us have our own way of practicing, following our religion and we have been doing the same for generations as taught by our elders.
Religion and spirituality is very personal.
I personally would prefer satisfying my spiritual connect with deities established by Jagadguru, rather than vishwa guru.
Yet my pride of being a Hindu cannot be questioned!
Modi 3.0
Now that the elections are over, the drama and facemask worn by our beloved rulers of being concerned about us and our struggles are also over. While we were waiting for the 3.0 avatar to rollback the reduction in fuel prices, and probably increase even further, the Congress Govt here has happily increased the fuel prices.
Both Centre and State Govts think fuel prices are their Savings Account and can withdraw at their will. And we ordinary citizens have no choice but to cough up more not only for Petrol/Diesel but for all the ripple effects of a Fuel hike. And all this trouble we take is for some freebies and free money distributed to few people! Why should my money be used to be distributed freely to someone?
In the pretext of having supposedly "people's mandate", can they do whatever they want? We, the idiotic, helpless, jokers (citizens) can only continue to stay helpless and endure.
I am scared what further troubles are in the waiting, with 3.0 gang back with the same old arrogant team.
What's laughable is, BJP protests when Congress raises fuel prices in the State, and Congress protests when BJP raises fuel prices in the Centre. There is no better proof that irrespective of party lines in power, the burden is on the common man, since the followers of each side are blinded and can defend any shit!
