Sakshi Madhuve
A much awaited wedding! A grand wedding of the youngest 2nd generation of the Nelamangalas.
Sakshi's wedding was being planned for over an year, all of us excited and preparing ourselves for the event.
We all kept talking about the wedding multiple times, there were almost daily calls and chats just about the wedding, and regular activities many were involved in preparing, planning and shopping.
The excitement was even more so for the fact that this was a major family event, after more than a decade. Of course, Shruti's and Samhita's weddings being virtual, We missed the Fun of participating and being part of all the action.
Pavana is next in line and that's the happy part, as the family will be coming together again to celebrate his wedding soon.
After that, there would be a gap of 5 to 10 years till the 3rd gen kids are ready to take the leap.
The wedding activities commenced by Narayana and Gowri when they visited Rajahmundry and Bangalore to kick off inviting the first circle for the wedding.
As the wedding got closer, there were some anxious moments and tension mounted as the news of a possible Covid third wave started making noise. We all started getting worried that this could have an impact on Surya and Sakshi's travel plans, and the possible introduction of Quarantine rules.
Pramoda landed a week prior and his travel was smooth, which was encouraging and a respite.
Eventually when Surya and Sakshi landed safely, we all breathed a sigh of relief.
Now there was no stopping, everyone got busy packing their bags and readying the dresses.
Everything added to the excitement - long awaited wedding, travelling to mysore and the fatigue of not stepping out and not attending any weddings for over 2 years.
The family slowly started to swell in Mysore after we all planned our travel in batches.
And there it was, the 4 day long wedding ceremonies finally began!
The wedding ceremonies were detailed and all the traditions and rituals were carried out.

The entire family believes we did our best to successfully accomplish what we all set out to achieve - a grand, happy, traditional wedding filled with exuberance.
Given the minor variations with rituals, Process and language barriers, every family member contributed to execute this Happy event of wedding of our Sakshi paapa.
With the guidance of all the sisters, mentoring by Ummi and Annaji, led by Vyni, and executed by Malini, Ramya, Ashwini, Pranathi, Preeti, Rajani, Mahima and Anagha.
Vyni being the CEO, no need to mention her contribution, as she literally led, guided and executed the whole wedding.
The resourcefulness, productive efforts, organization skills, communication skills and the workhorse in Malini was even lauded by Surya's family, as she was the pivot between the two families.
Ramya with her good hold in Telugu, was good in PR with Surya's family. She was in the forefront for all Mantra and songs recitation, which is our family legacy.
Ramya's involvement and dedication was acknowledged, praised and lauded by Surya's parents as well.
Vedi's strong backend work usually goes unnoticed as she is the one holding the fort behind the curtains. Despite her age slowing her down, she continues to do everything behind the scenes, as she has always done in all the weddings.
Pramoda's lively presense and animated chats added the required fun quotient to the event.
Meanwhile, we cousins had a great time together. With Pramoda in town, and all cousins meeting together after a very long time, we sneaked out of the wedding to do few of the favourite things together.
This glorious event was put together by the coordinated efforts of everyone in the family, the team effort of the entire Nelamangala family was appreciated by Surya's parents as well.
We did all this to see our Sakshi Paapa start a new innings in her life with Surya.
They both looked great together, and perfect for each other. The happiness was radiating with their sweet smile through the event.
As the new wedded couple now head to few more get togethers in Rajahmundry and Hyderabad, we wish them a safe travel back to US first, and a very happy married life!
