One more invite to attend a function in Udupi, and I didn't waste any time thinking twice, even though we had visited Udupi just a month ago. I now just need a reason to visit Udupi.
When Udupi calls, We just pack our bags. It has indeed become our second home.
Not sure if It's because of the frequent visits to Udupi over the last 10 years or the sweet and kind people over there, or Sri Krishna himself, but I have fallen completely in love with Udupi, It's people, It's cuisine, the language, the culture, the Heritage and just everything about it.
Feels like time has stopped in Udupi. Apart from the obvious commercialization in the city center, the villages around, the temple, the people and the Car street are still the same - unpretentious and undeterred by the fast paced life outside.
Every visit to Udupi re-assures my dream and my intent becomes more firmer to relocate and settle in Udupi soon.
I connect to Udupi and It's way of life, as I am tired and unable to sync with the monotunous and extremely stressful IT and City life!
In my earlier blogs on Udupi, I have expressed other facets of Udupi, it's Aura, and many other reasons why I run there when it calls. The rusticity, ethnicity very well intact in everything they do.
A visit to Udupi this time was our first travel by train in this Route.
I must say, It's extremely stress-free and simple way to travel to Udupi. Probably I am already learning to keep things simple, despite my love to drive in my car..or It's just my age showing up!?

A 2 day function to attend at Preeti's hometown and We planned a 3 day trip, and We started each day visiting Krishna Mutt and having darshan of Sri Krishna. We felt blessed and extremely contented with the fact that every morning was with the lord, couldn't have asked more.
I also understood from our relatives there that the localities who have local address were given passes to allow them to walk in to the Mutt and have quick Darshan everyday!
Wow, thats something!
The function at Preeti's place was filled with sweetness of the people, further sugar coated with the sweet language.
Modest, humble, shy, caring, affectionate - all these aptly describe their Nature.
Ofcourse, my work doesn't leave me wherever I go. I had to give it time to keep the ship sailing.
The yummy Mundakki Upkari that we love having at Mantap hotel, got even better this time, as we explored newer local joints which served lip smacking Upkari. Such street side Upkari joints usually serve some awesome Soda drinks, and we tried this new unique combination majjige+soda, different but nice!
A well spent and a rewarding day will have to end on the Car Street, just laze around the car street, take a slow walk and sync in the silence, calmness and sit on the side benches and chat along before retiring to bed.
Some of the experiences during the visit this time were tranquil and spiritually fulfilling and gratifying.
I only wish and pray everything works out, retire early and relocate!
I would love to hear from you all, on your thoughts of drastic changes in lifestyle, relocating to a different place you always wanted to and wished to live, staying outside your set and comfortable way of living.
