Where I live, where I want to Live
Just outside my town, is a mountain range. The sun rises over those hills and I start the day watching those beautiful orange shades on those hills, from my Balcony.
Through the town, cascading from those mountains, flows a calm, serene, sparkling river with clear water.
And the small farm I live in, is filled with greenery all around, all I hear is birds chirping, and the slow, calm winds blowing over my fields.
Where I live, it's soothing for heart, mind and soul.
On the outskirts of my City, there are huge IT parks with towering buildings. The traffic flows at snails pace through my city, with unruly drivers and wayward co-residents.
All I hear is the mad honking and fights on the streets.
As I open my window, the view I get is the walls and windows of other buildings.
The constant crying, screaming of all infants and kids around, and their mothers yelling at them!
Where I live, it's depressing, irritating & frustrating.
This is how I live.
70 Hours Work debate
The only takeaway for me from this 70 Hours work debate is, one man makes a statement and the entire country either abuses him or supports him. That's the level to reach.
On the topic itself, India's workforce are not just IT/ITES employees. One needs to realise there are multiple other service sectors where people work without any time limits, Doctors, Army, Ola Drivers, Train/Bus drivers, Care takers, labours, Security Guards.
He probably also doesn't really understand how SMEs, bootstrapped companies operate.
Whether a veteran like Narayana Murthy says it or a minnow like Murali Murthy says it, people and companies know what they want and how they work.
His hidden agenda could be to further cut down manpower and extract more juice from fewer employees.
What I find amusing is this trend of raking emotions for everything, linking everything to Nationalism. It's laughable that an employee of an MNC or a Private Company working more is in the country's interest!!
For such an influential person he is, he should rather be speaking about the disparity in the pay.
These MNCs and large IT companies have spoilt the market for long by paying vulgar salaries to even a fresher. An SQL guy doesn't know what HTML is, a Server guy doesn't even know how Network works, yet each of them are paid in Lakhs. A non IT guy or a freelancer is much more skilled and deserve to earn a lot more.
The Peace lover
When a song brings 1000s of memories, when the only topic is yesteryear incidents during a friends catch up, the moment you realize the memories are more alive than you are, when you start to get this scary feeling of drowning where there is no water, it's high time we realize we were giving more value to River, than the Water itself.
Any man would finally settle for peace... not women, not lust, not money, not fame that he chased his entire life. All you need is a life with no drama, no conflict, no traffic, no work, but a cozy home, with a loveable companion (who is fine even if you see all your old flames in her) who knows how you want your Coffee, and you knowing how she likes her drink.
Hope of someone is listening
Who stops you from dreaming? what stops you from dreaming? it comes at no cost, nor any pain to others.
Therez no measure of how much you can dream. Dreams don't come on their own, you make dreams. Dreams starts from the day we are born. A parallel thought: Not sure if we are born as Humans, or born to become Humans!
Everyone wants their dreams come true, and invariably we latch on to Prayers to realize the dreams.
Beliefs aside, is there really someone listening to our prayers?
The unseen energy travels with you
Everytime I travel, every new place I visit,
I bring back home a piece of that place,
A piece that adds up in me,
A piece that becomes my memory,
A piece that evolves me,
Do we also bring back some unknown energy, unseen energy back home along with us?
If there was a way to see all those energies piled up back home, I only want to say Hello and Thank them.
The next time you are traveling back from a holiday, new city, look for that piece (in form of light, insect, sound or just anything) following all the way back!
Those Battles
There are some battles you can never win....
Putting sense into idiots,
Making someone to stop snoring,
Helping someone move on, who doesn't want to drop the baggage,
Getting a good night sleep when you have to catch an early morning flight,
To silence the noises in the mind with music,
To figure if it's your train/flight or the one next that has started to move,
To stop myself from writing about things I hate, which is boring for others, but a temptation for me.
The Public Profile
How much of our ideas, personality, opinions, mindset reflect our true self on our public profiling?!
Many of us are active on Social Media and we keep Posting and Forwarding content. Can we judge someone based on the content posted? Does it reflect the person's personality? Can we get to know someone by their Social Media pages?
I would like to believe we all compartmentalize profession, rational thinking, and our likes/dislikes.
For Ex: a pious and a naive person like my mother is addicted to what I find filthy and nonsensical - Big Boss.
Her liking and addiction towards a gross reality show, doesn't reflect her passion for Music and Spirituality.
This question arised when I was looking for a professional help and mentorship on one subject, expecting him to be rational & level headed, but found his Social Media pages filled with Opposition bashing, Pro Modi. I don't think I would have been any comfortable if that person's page was filled with anti-Modi and pro-Pappu posts.
