Preeti

Way back in the days of Bride hunt, my parents, all my relatives & friends were busy finding a suitable bride for me.

With my Business background, most of them kept rejecting me. This hunt ended on 12th Mar 2008.
On my 30th birthday week, 3 girls were lined up for the meeting, and Preeti was one of them.

Not sure if its Preeti's luck or my 30th birthday gift, all 3 said Ok.
Parents and Sister started to pick and choose from the three, but I was very clear in my mind that it was Preeti.

Rewinding the scene 3 days ago, when Preeti and her parents had come home to see us for the first time.
Preeti those days used to work in night shift at Convergys. She was literally dragged out of the house by her parents to our home, as she was still sleepy.

What I call it "ting" i.e bell rings in the heart and you know it, that this is the person, happened to me the moment I saw her...all the list, requirements, checklist that I had in the ideal wife material were flushed and had set my heart and mind on her. I really don't have answers to what aspects made me choose her, I felt it and I trusted my feelings... everything else and all other opinions didn't matter.

Interactions with her, her parents and the way Mr. Maiya presented himself and his daughter, I was sold.

On my 30th Birthday, when I got to know that Preeti has given her nod, it was time for us to meet again, just the two of us. We met at Coffee Day, and we got to know each other more, our likes, our dislikes...and that was it. We decided we are going ahead with the proposal and formally announced to our families.

Parents took over from here and Engagement function was arranged within a month, and the wedding was scheduled in Aug 2008.

The time between Engagement and Wedding was wonderful, the feeling of being in love, fresh in the relation and a beautiful feeling. We went out to movies, restaurants, did hangout a lot that bonded us. Our first movie together was "Thaare Zameen par" :)

10th Aug 2008, a grand Wedding was arranged by the Maiyas...it was a grand affair and an event that etched beautiful memories, followed by even grander Reception at Nanded.

Preeti entered my life and home, and its been a beautiful journey. She has understood every reaction of mine, mood swings, temperament, my antics.
She knows how to handle my anger, when to yell at me, when to be silent and when to calm me down.
With so much of frustration and mental stress I am always in, due to my business issues, she understands me and my temper.

As my friends say "No other woman could have survived you, apart from Preeti", true Indeed and am proud of her.

Her innocence, childlike revolt sometimes, mother-like punishing and yelling at few times, and friend-like understanding and freedom she gives, makes her perfect fit for me.

I also do my best to thank her for everything she does for me, my parents and family, by way of gifting her regularly, pouring love all the time, making her happy by doing everything that makes her happy. I make it a point to make every Birthday of her memorable and celebrate every Anniversary as grand as possible.

It is indeed true that "A Woman is happy when she is shopping and a happy woman look prettier"; her love for Bollywood movies, Songs and Shopping is obvious.

We both love partying, seeing new places, travelling, going on drives. We don't need any company with us, we are happy on our own.

Some of the best times we have spent together includes Thailand trip, many Coorg Trips, Amritsar trip, Ocean Spray, annual Goa visits, umpteen Pubs we have partied at, Niramayya, Dwara, Cruise experience and the List goes on....
Ofcourse the list doesn't end here, we have lot more in the List of places we want to visit, and I hope I can make it happen soon.

I might not have gifted her many material gifts, but have gifted her lots of memories. We have created loads of memories for ourselves and GBs of Pictures and Videos, that we can spend rest of our lives reliving those memories, by reading My blogs, watching the Pictures and Videos.

Within 1 year of the wedding, we knew we can share everything with each other and we have shared even the darkest secrets.

In her own words "If he is an open book, I am his book's cover".
