Deriving Inspiration - II

A Collective of write-ups on some of the inspirations that we can derive from events & people

The King and the Judgement

Adapting a short story on a King's wisdom and his judgement.

Three Men were found guilty for an act of terrorism.
The judge after reviewing and studying the case and their involvement, judged the first criminal who was an uneducated labour, to be put on 6 months of community service to clean Roads for 8 hours a day.
The second guy who was an ex-army man, pronounced 5 years rigorous imprisonment.
The third culprit who was an Engineer, was sentenced to death.
When the Lawer asked the judge why the difference in punishment for the same crime, the judge said "the uneducated labour and the soldier only needed to be reminded of discipline and responsible citizenship.
But the Engineer who is the brains behind this, had clear intentions to cause hurt and lured the other two with money and negativity."
Mind is the key to create a positive world and a key conspirer too...if it is the reason for progress of humans, it is also the reason for atrocities and Mind must be punished the most.

Kantara

We humans have eternally been in search of God. In this quest, we have only achieved to come up with religions. Looks like more or less we have settled defining god through religion and religious texts.
We all have identified and defined God based on our religious head's/founder's perception and interpretation of God.
And probably the reason there is no universal consensus, as it's a personal experience.
How do you see the divine?
I am very sure, we all see and feel God based on our life experiences.
I surely feel him around, he is there to help when I need him the most, he is there to punish me when I err. He shows up himself in unexpected forms and means.
Those who don't experience him take the safe path and identify themselves as non-believers.
With all the shine, glory and lit, as we dig deeper, the divinity seems darker, scary and complex.
Divinity is powerful, magical, mystical and and it's another form of lust wanting to see him and know him up close.
All practices, rituals have very deep meaning and importance, directly connected to the divine. It is in our best interest to just stay away if we don't believe, rather than disrespecting or making fun.

Ravana

Ravana was a learned scholar, well versed with vedas & shastras, and an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. His scientific achievements includes building and flying pushpaka vimana (aeroplane).
Ravana was a great king, expert warrior, politician, an astrologer and had prowess in ayurveda. He was an exceptional Poet, musician and a very romantic person.
His 10 heads of knowledge, symbolizing all 10 perfect qualities.
With almost everything what a powerful and a perfect man could have, he went astray with lust for more power, pleasure and happiness.
The difference between Ravana and Rama, is that the former failed to control his senses, intelligence, but the latter did!
Apart from lust, arrogance, humility, was Ravana well accomplished and an ocean of knowledge, was knocked down by the representation of truth, morality and dharma?
When both had Nuclear power (Bramhasthra), Rama used it as last resort, but Ravana didn't, because he knew clash of two Nuclear bombs would erase humanity and ecology.
The alternate realities, hidden gems usually get suppressed in a bid to make one man a Hero and perceptions built around one man.

An eternal Quest

An eternal quest by every woman, at every home - What to prepare for breakfast tomorrow? What to prepare for lunch today?
I have seen my mom, my sister and my wife literally sitting for a moment everyday and wondering what to prepare!
Am sure, all you men have seen this at your homes.
I wasn't noticing this much, until I saw my wife everyday sincerely think of what to prepare for breakfast and lunch every single day.
I realized it's indeed a genuine issue to come up with different menu every single day.
I wanted to help my wife and started planning to build a Software that would pop up the menu suggestions each day on her phone, based on the preferences and pre-fed list, and based on the day of the week.
But she came up with a practical problem, that the ingredients and veggies required to prepare a randomly suggested food item, might not be available at home, most of the times.
Wow, it's indeed a larger problem to solve!
Another example to show Human intelligence cannot always be automated!

Gyan Bhandar - II

A Collective of write-ups on some gyan I could give based on my life experiences

Are you a Nice person or a Bad person?

Who decides this? Ourselves or Others?
I see many elders in the family and friend circles, whom we see as mentors, motivational, ideal and their life itself is an inspiration. But their own children look down upon them, criticize and belittle them.
If Modi is seen as a Saint, Godsent and a pure soul by one half, other half find him fake, selfish and arrogant.
If Mothers are seen as angels, cows and epitome of innocence by Sons, their wives see the same person as rude, wicked and unkind.
As individuals, we are what we are. It's the combination of perspectives in which people see us, and the experiences we had with the other person that the impression is created on.

The power of words
Words have the power, the ability to help, to heal, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble.
Instead of pleading "I am blind, please help", what if the blind man says "Seems like a beautiful day, wish I could experience like many of you".
The hurt a mother-in-law can cause by saying "I already have BP, so much salt in food will kill me", is more painful than Salt for her BP.
If the intent is to hurt someone, then miraculously one can find choicest words that can be extremely hurtful.
The difficult part is however, to find words to make someone happy.
Choose the right words and you will not find a reason to say "I didn't mean that".

Anger and outburst

Anger is such a dangerous emotion. I say it's dangerous because we will be at the mercy of unpredictability.
We lose our composure, our sanity and thinking ability.
The triggers of getting angry itself is unpredictable, its a child of annoyance and rage.
The intensity, the fury makes us lose control on ourselves and we feel the blood is literally boiling.
The aggression the anger brings in, is very instinctive that could be due to pent up frustrations, irritants, annoyance, intolerance and impatience.
The violence this instinctive reaction and outburst happens in us could be extremely destructive, be it violent expression or the words spoken!
When the anger subsides, it's as if you feel you were a different person and wouldn't believe it was you who reacted the way you did. We surely regret and feel guilty post the anger episode.
Getting angry is involuntary and reflexive, and usually caused by daily life's stress, frustrations.
Those suggesting anger management tips like Yoga, meditation and who thinks anger can be controlled, would have not probably endured the struggles and frustrations that can make one eternally angry.
It's like saying any nonsense uttered by successful people, be it Narayana Murthy, Jack Ma or a Elon Musk seems Gyan to people

The Rebellious

"My life, My rules",
"I give a damn for others, this is what I am, this is how I lead my life"
"Love me or hate me, I don't care"
Such rebellious path is often taken by many, especially the teenagers these days.
Display of PDA, living an indifferent life, treading a path which otherwise is considered a stigma or a taboo...is it easy to be rebellious? Or is it easy to lead a life accepted by majority?
We need not care what others think or if others are judging us? But....we can't deny the fact that we live in society, amidst people...though we need not try to impress others, it's always harmonious to sync in the society and societal normalcy and broadly accepted morality and unwritten rules.
End of the day, we have to just ask ourselves, are we ok standing alone carrying rebellious attitude or sync in the society and win people's hearts and have people behind us.

Gyandu

When someone gets into trouble or going through agony, a difficult situation, all of us jump and give our "expert advise".
We all become experts and advise on any given subject, be it decision on education, career, be it an emotional or financial turbulence, we feel we are entitled to give our expert advises.
For Love failure, marriage issues, we have relationship advises. For real estate, money matters, we have financial advices. And when someone has health issues, we become doctors.
Now, when we get into such situations, will we counsel ourselves? Do we take our own advices?
Instead of sulking, becoming weak, can we look at our own problems stepping out of our Shoes, and counsel ourselves?

In search of Divinity

We love Rains, but under an Umbrella..We love sunny days, but under a shade..I guess anything that we love will be pleasing if experienced from a distance.
Similarly the Divinity.. it's a wonderful experience to stand at a distance and admire, cherish the divine moments. God and divinity need not always be searched in procedures, rituals, books and Gurus. And as per my encounters with God, he is never the one to say I will bless you only if you follow the texts!
With deep sincere love, belief in him, stand in front of him with the folded hands and pray (in whatever language you and him mutually connect with) for his protection and support, he will cover you every single time.

Instant Karma
Not sure if I am the jinxed one around, or if it's experienced by most of you - the instant karma.
I almost instantly get back in the same quantum, if I cause harm or trouble to anyone.
There are umpteen examples in my life, be it significant events, episodes or minor incidents to convince me to stay away from causing trouble.
Be it intentional, unintentional or even thinking in mind feeling funny of someone else's plight, it gets back to me!
One such small incident, and such things keep happening to me quite often: In a small lane, I was driving my car in the opposite direction, and one guy (seemingly new to driving) panicked and in a bid to give me way, hit his Car to a pillar. And I don't know why, at that moment I smirked at him and moved on.
As I drove 5 KMs further, one nuthead rash driver banged my car from behind causing yet another dent
😠😔

At "Siva Nilaya", on a Sunday afternoon, the Madam of the house Parvathi, after finishing all Sunday morning Chores, decides to take a head bath.

She had been asking her Manager and her Business Tycoon Husband to get her Bathroom door's latch reparied for couple of days now, but the Carpenter kept giving false promises and never turned up.

But since the Lady had to take head bath and with minimum staff available on a Sunday, she thought it was anyway high time to use to the new Machine her husband gifted her during his Multiverse tour that could give Life to Mannequins. She used it on a young Boy's life-size Doll and the young boy instantly came to life and she addressed as her Son.

She ordered her Son to ensure no one enters the Room and that he stand guard.

The husband Siva rushed to her Room and wanted to meet her. The boy stopped him and asked him to wait. Siva got furious and asked him how dare he stopped seeing his own wife, in his own house.

The duty bound, sincere boy told Siva that he was appointed by his Mother and that the will not take orders from anyone else.

Furious with the boy's arrogance, the short tempered Siva used his Gun and shot the boy right in the middle of the Neck. The neck bone cracked and the boy's head fell off.

Parvathi finished her Bath, tied towel on the head, smeared some body perfume and came out to see a shocking scene. She got furious and told Siva she would send him to Jail and would never come back to him. Realizing it's a non-bailable offense, Siva quickly ordered his body guards to go and get a Head of anyone they come across.

The body guards stepped out of the farm house and found an elephant calf right outside their land. Without wasting time, they cut the head and brought it.

Siva with his influence flew in a Cosmetic Surgeon in no time, who fixed the elephant head with the boy's body and used the Machine to bring the boy back to life.

Though Parvathi was happy to see her son back to life, she asked Siva what respect would their son get with such a strange face.

Siva thought through and rolled out a board resolution that with immediate effect, all new Contracts and Agreements across all his group companies, must be signed only by Ganesh.

Parvathi was happy that her Son will be revieweing and giving a nod to all new beginnings, all new works carried out in all the companies.

While Parvathi was rejoicing and got busy hosting a party, Siva just wanted to sit back in the room and relax with all the chaos that happened.

That's when he heard someone sobbing and a feable crying voice "Naana...Naana".

As he turns around, he sees the severed boy's head "Naana, Dayachesi naaku kuda yemaara solution ivvandi"

Siva said "vundra, vundra, neeku yemaara chesthanu bidda" and thought through.

After a while, he called his body guard again and asked them to bring the Elephant's body. He asked the Surgeon to now join the boy's Head with the elephant's body and announced in the party "Vaadu GaneshuDu, Veedu HaneshuDu. If Ganesh signs all new contracts, Hanesh will take care of Contract duration and sign any termination due to performance", and amends the Board Resolution.

The Reserved league

The Reserved league

The deep rooted Caste system has been India's historic fault line, which was brewed, groomed and the differences well maintained by our Kings, Rulers, Affluent and in the modern times, by the politicians.

There have been many social reforms in the society that has drastically curtailed thr caste based disparity in the society.

The reservation system was rightly introduced in our constitution, to encourage the historically discriminated, side lined communities, especially SC and STs. This was a bid to rectify the historical injustice to certain sections based on Caste.

In this age and time, how relevant is this? How does caste play a role in education, jobs and privileges.

I am aware that Caste system has not blurred, thanks to all the politicians who are keeping it alive in th society.

But as ordinary citizens, atleast we keep our caste and religious practices inside our homes and not part of our social life.

With exception of certain rural pockets, largely people are hungry to excel and progress, than being stuck with caste system. Ofcourse, this has taken a hit since 2014, as there is curated efforts towards going back in history.

I understand providing privileges to economically weaker sections, as it's Govt's and people's responsibility to ensure no one sleeps hungry. BPL Cards does that job and all schemes by Govts in the past and present, have done their bit to add more power to BPL card holders.

Now comes the frustrating fact. Take the caste wise population split in Karnataka below:

SC 19.5%, Muslims 16%, Lingayats 14%, Vokkaligas 11%, Kurubas 7%, Tribals 5%, Christians 3%, Buddists and Jains 2% and Brahmins 3%.

The 3rd and 4th most populous are the ones creating all drama seeking reservations!! And the reason why I am writing this blog.

The last two sections of the society, have never asked for reservation, though they rightfully deserve, going by the population size.

Though there has been some noise by the politicians on reservations to Brahmins, it's just another election gimmick and not People's ask.

I fail to understand why people ask for reservations and quota? Shouldn't there be self respect and determination to progress based on ability and merit?

Unfortunately caste is determining the eligibility and giving edge to education, job, governance, elections.

50% of Govt seats, jobs are reserved for 90% of the population! What logic!!??

No wonder the Governence, legislation, judiciary and executive is suffering, because people are not hired based on merit, ability, skill or logic, but based on caste certificate.

We should only thank our stars, that caste based reservation is not enforced in Private sector.

With caste based reservation so rampant in the Engineering and Medical seats, that hardworking, meritorious students with no Caste baggage, find it extremely difficult to get a seat, forcing them to look abroad for studies and further career. Eventually, as a country, we are losing efficient and young talent and workforce.

And the P.M talks about Make In India, but does not look at retaining young and bright talent by giving them the deserving opportunity by reserving seats for the deserved, not based on Caste.

I would like to understand from these agitating Mutt heads who claim their caste is in existential crisis (despite being populous) and hence demand reservations, why link Caste with education, economic position and jobs!?

Even if their demands are heeded, will their people stop applying seats and jobs under remaining 50% merit quota.

Because they are so populous that their people will apply under Caste reservation as well as under General quota!

Where should people with self respect and trust in their abilities go?

With increasing globalization and urbanization, the caste loyalty is weakening, as we see inter caste marriages being a normalcy, religious conversions to suit their agenda, discontinuing and disowning caste by birth.

India can progress and achieve newer heights, only when:

- Politicians stop using Caste based politics

- People stop voting candidates based on Caste

- Caste based reservations are abolished

- Pension be offered to deserving people and not a default privilege for all.

With Caste based reservations, the system, the politicians and Govt are only ensuring Caste discrimination is alive.
